Offered here is a 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe finished in Guards Red over a Cashmere leather interior, powered by its original 3.2-liter flat-six paired with the highly desirable G50 5-speed manual transmission.
This 911 is coming out of long-term Southern California ownership. The previous owner purchased the car in 1995 and cared for it for nearly 30 years. Throughout his ownership, the car was serviced primarily by Scientific Automotive in Pasadena, one of Southern California’s well-known independent Porsche specialists. The sale includes an extensive binder of service records dating back to the 1990s, along with the owner’s manuals, books, warranty booklet, tool kit, and documentation.
Mechanically, this Carrera runs and drives exceptionally well. The engine starts easily, pulls strong throughout the rev range, and sounds exactly as a 3.2 Carrera should. The G50 transmission shifts smoothly through every gear, the clutch engages properly, and the brakes inspire confidence. I personally drove the car over five hours home, and it performed flawlessly without issue.
Documented Service History
The accompanying records document nearly three decades of consistent maintenance, including major services such as:
Two documented clutch replacements
Engine reseal, including rear main seal, flywheel seal, oil cooler seals, oil return tubes, thermostat seal, and oil pressure switch
Engine and transmission mounts replaced
